How do I host a fun football watch party at my apartment near USF?

Many anticipate the fall season for various reasons, including a seasonal temperature change, fall flavors, scents, foods, and colors. For many around the country, including those in the Tampa Bay area, the fall season means football season. Whether you cheer for the University of South Florida Bulls, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or another team, we included some tips to make your football party at your USF apartment a fun time for you and your friends.

PICK THE SPACE

First and foremost, if you have roommates at your apartment near the University of South Florida, make sure they are on board being the host site for your football party. Nothing starts off a roommate's living situation on the wrong foot, like one roommate planning a party and the other roommate planning to study for a big test on the same night. If your roommates are down, maybe you could join in together to share the cost of supplies, food, and more. Pick the space and invite accordingly. Set up the viewing area in front of the television to ensure everyone has a comfortable seat to sit and watch the big game.

DECORATE

Nothing says party without decorations. Some ideas for decorations are balloons, plates, cups, tablecloths, streamers, or pom poms in green and gold colors for the USF Bulls. If you are looking for official USF items, check out the Tailgate & Spirit section of the USF bookstore. And don't forget to dress in your team's colors.

OUTDOOR SPACE

If you have an outdoor space like a patio or balcony at your USF apartment, make sure to include that in your plans for your party. Continue the decorations to your outdoor area. You can purchase a USF table or cornhole game set to use but also doubles as festive décor. If your apartment complex has a swimming pool or community grill area with access to TVs, check with your leasing office to see about using it for a football watch party.

FOOD & DRINKS

You can't invite anyone to a football watch party without food and drinks for your friends. Football party food doesn't need to be elaborate or complicated. Supply some chips and dips, ask your guests to bring their favorite dish or drink to share. Publix offers many premade and delicious appetizers like buffalo chicken or artichoke dip. Maybe try this simple slow-cooker chili recipe from Betty Crocker's kitchen, or if you have a grill time to fire it up for hot dogs or hamburgers.

Part of college life at the University of South Florida is cheering on the USF Bulls football team, whether in person at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, a tailgate spot outside the stadium, or a football party with friends at your USF apartment. Many around the country look forward to the fall season for many reasons: one of those reasons is football season. Time to cheer on your favorite team- Go Bulls!
