Melissa Kuntzman is an undergraduate student at Florida State University double-majoring in English and Political Science. She joined Her Campus at FSU in the fall of her sophomore year, starting as a staff writer then becoming a content editor. For her senior year, she will be serving as the publication outreach coordinator for the chapter. Passionate about writing, Melissa has seized any opportunity to grow in her skills. After she graduates in the spring of 2022, Melissa hopes to attend graduate school to get her master's in Journalism and pursue a career within the journalism industry.
Melissa has always been a Florida gal. She was born and raised in South Florida and has fallen in love with living in the north part of the state. Before moving to college, she had never moved previously and was very nervous about roommate problems and room organization but has proved to become quite the expert. Living in four different dorms in one year, she was eager to settle into apartment life with her best friend. Even though she's lived in Florida her whole life, Melissa still loves to explore the state and her favorite places near Tallahassee are Wakulla Springs and St. Mark's Historic Lighthouse.
When Melissa isn't reading for class, she enjoys binge-watching Korean dramas, playing with her dog, Jake, and trying out new restaurants. Growing up a musician's daughter, loving music is just in her genes. Her most played song at the moment is "Mr. Perfectly Fine" by Taylor Swift. She's not a big fan of sports but is always down to go to a football game (Go Noles!), even if it is just for an Instagram pic. Melissa likes to think she's a good cook and hopes her friends would agree. Fun fact: Melissa gave herself a second-degree burn on a Kid's Cuisine when she was eight.
