Furnished apartments are an incredible amenity for time and cash pressed students. Off-campus living near USF
can seem attractive until you realize you may be on the hook for outfitting an entire apartment home with not only decor and other necessities to make it function and feel like home, but actual FURNITURE so you have a place to sit and sleep! You're in luck. Many apartments near USF
offer furniture packages to make your transition easier and more cost-effective.
While apartment furniture packages won't provide every last necessity you may require, you can rest assured that nearly all will include major basics. Use this list to help you understand what might be included, but always be sure to check with a leasing agent to confirm which pieces of furniture will be in the apartment on move-in day.
These items will be personal to you and your own bedroom that you've leased. You will be solely responsible for the condition of these items upon move out.
- Bedframe with mattress
- Chest of drawers, commonly made of 2 pieces that fit under the bed
For reference, here is a photo of a student housing bedroom that includes a desk, dresser, nightstand, and bed frame with mattress. Decor like sheets, blankets, lamps, and wall art would not be included on move-in day.
Common Area Furniture:
All common area furniture will be shared with roommates. You and your roommates are mutually responsible for the care and cleaning of these items.
- End table(s)
- Coffee table
- Entertainment/TV stand
- BONUS: Many furniture packages also included a TV!
For reference, here is a photo of a typical apartment common area. Note: Your future apartment will not include any decor, so you'll need to choose your own throw pillows and outfit the area with lamps!
While these lists are great, you may notice some key pieces and home accessories missing. Below, we've compiled a shopping listing by room to help you and your roommates decide on who is bringing the best pans for taco night and some other tips and tricks from fluffy towels to mini-fridges.
